In this class we will explore the herb, Lavender. Our sensory approach to herbalism allows students to experience herbs, and not just hear about them. Lavender is famous for its calming scent, but it's also has many medicinal uses. This class has a been a favorite in the past. As with all of our herbalism classes for homeschoolers we will have a hands-on project.
Each student will have the opportunity to fill out an age-appropriate herbal monograph that they can compile to create a start to their own herbal resource, called a Materia Medica used by professional herbalist. We choose child friendly herbs when determining our class line up. Class order or herb is determined by availability of herbs in our gardens and/or from our trusted sources and are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. Register for any or all classes for our fall semester! Interest has been high, register early to secure your child’s spot. You may register multiple children on one registration form and at one check out, but you will have to fill out a short registration form for each of the individual class dates.
